"Virtually Amazing" 2020 Recital

YOUR COSTUMES WILL BE GROUPED BY FAMILY – YOU WILL ONLY COME ONCE AND IT SHOULD BE FOR YOUR EARLIEST PICK UP. YOU WILL RECEIVE ALL COSTUMES FOR ALL OF YOUR DANCERS, FOR ALL OF THEIR CLASSES AT THAT TIME:
There are a handful of costumes that might require a second pick up and you will be advised of that either via email, or
at curbside pick up.

PRIOR TO YOUR PICK UP DATE:
Review the Costumes that you received prior to Shelter In Place. Make your own personal list of what you have identified as outstanding.

HELP US QUICKLY IDENTIFY THE COSTUMES TO PULL:
Prior to your pick up time, on a large white piece of paper, write your last name in bold print, and then first names of your dancers so we can see who is waiting. Place this against your front window when you arrive (or whichever window is closest to the studio doors).

INVENTORY YOUR DELIVERY:
Someone from the studio will bring the costumes out to you and physically show them, one at a time, to you from your window so you can do a visual inventory.

AVOID CONTACT:
You should have your trunk or back hatch open for the FPD representative to place your costumes in the back of your vehicle. We encourage you, as an extra precaution, to leave the costumes in the back of your car for 48 hours.

WE WANT TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE:
FPD representatives will be masked and gloved. We hope you will be as well. At this time, we have all been adhering to Shelter in Place and we do not have anyone ill with Covid. We will not have
curbside deliverers who are running a temperature or feeling ill participating in this distribution. If we determine that someone becomes ill after delivery, we will advise you so you can be extra cautious for the next 14 days.

IF YOU ARE HIGH RISK OR HIGH ANXIETY:
If you do not feel comfortable with this process, please email the studio. You can do 1 of 2 things…
  1. You can advise us that another parent will pick up your costumes. You need to email the studio and advise them of the family doing your pick up. Then, during the pick up, have them place a second piece of paper in their windshield with your family names.
  2. If you do not have someone to pick up for you, email the studio and we will do our best to do a personal delivery. Include your address and a photo of your front doorstep as an extra precaution against a mis-delivery.
AFTER YOUR COSTUMES HAVE ‘AGED’ FOR 48 HOURS:
Try them on and modify for fit. This year we can certainly get away with safety pin alterations for our Zoom performances. Keep the costumes handy for your child’s class. Performance Video will occur during 1-2 class times and you should receive an email advising the video date. The
recorded video will be played during your assigned Performance Day/Time. This will be either May 29-31 or June 5-7.

PLEASE READ PERFORMANCE LOGISTICS BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

PERFORMANCE LOGISTICS

We are very excited to prepare for our first (and hopefully only) Zoom Recital. Tickets are (here is some good news) FREE! And all seating is front row! The format will be as follows…
THE SHOW WILL CONSIST OF RECORDED ZOOM PERFORMANCES THAT WILL BE CREATED DURING YOUR STUDENTS’ CLASS TIME. RECORDINGS WILL BEGIN THE WEEK OF MAY 11, BASED ON COSTUME DISTRIBUTION. ‘PERFORMANCES’ WILL BE PLAYED BACK DURING THE WEEKENDS OF MAY 29 AND JUNE 5.

IMPORTANT THINGS YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING FOR AND COMPLETING….
– Watch for emails advising the recording sessions so you can have your dancer dressed in their costume, with the appropriate hair style. We encourage, but do not require, stage make up/eyelashes optional.
-By May 18th, we recommend that your child attend all of their classes in costume, hair, and make up preferences. We hope to record each class on 2 separate class periods, and use the best recording for recital. Additionally, for larger classes (over 14) we will split the class and create 2 ‘performances’ to be presented sequentially – this should make the viewing much easier.
-If you need additional items, access the FlashPointeDance.com website Performance Info Page for an order form to send to Glitter (GlitterAndGrimeDance@Gmail.com) to request a Curbside Pick Up Purchase. (this year, fresh tights will not be required – please no tights or shoes with holes).
-Support your dancer by encouraging them to attend all remaining classes and having their costumes, shoes, and other performance needs available for their immediate access.

DEDICATIONS:

This year has been about sacrificing for the greater good. It is our desire that our students make these performances a bit more special by dedicating them to someone special….a friend or family member, a frontline worker, a special group. WE WILL BE ASKING EACH DANCER TO DEDICATE THEIR ZOOM 2020 PERFORMANCES, AND TO ANNOUNCE THEIR DEDICATION. Dedications will be recorded and played back during each performance piece. Please take some time to brainstorm with your child about what they might want to say for this recording. Dancers in multiple classes can choose to have a different dedication for each class, or keep the same dedication for all classes.

WATCH FOR YOUR LINKS AND EMAILS:

-We have a lot of information coming your way. You don’t want your child to be disappointed to miss a deadline.

-Check the Performance Info Page on the FPD website often for postings if you are afraid you are not up to date on things.

Watch for your Costume Curbside Pick Up window. Each family will pick up all costumes at their earliest pick up date only. You do not have to come more than once. Please read the Curbside Pick Up information as well. We hope to have the remaining costumes out by 5/16 at the very latest.

-Watch for your Performance Date Zoom Meeting links. We will advise when the performance will be Zoomed, and give you a link to share with your family and friends so they can watch as well. Encourage anyone who is going to join us on Zoom, for the performance, to download the ap well before the performance time. Each class will be on the zoom room for 5-15 minutes. Once we get Curbside Pick Up notices and Recording notices completed, we will start creating the Zoom Rooms and sending out links. Expect them the week of 5/18-5/23 or sooner.

-You may want to learn how to record a Zoom Meeting prior to your Zoom Performance so you can record the ‘recital’.

-Zoom has an update that must be downloaded prior to May 30th – Make sure you have accessed this early this month.

CLASSES WILL CONTINUE through June 4th or 5th, depending on Zoom Recitals. Our goal is to complete all ‘PERFORMANCES’ on Saturdays and Sundays, with Friday as a back up if we need additional time.
