We are very excited to prepare for our first (and hopefully only) Zoom Recital. Tickets are (here is some good news) FREE! And all seating is front row! The format will be as follows…
THE SHOW WILL CONSIST OF RECORDED ZOOM PERFORMANCES THAT WILL BE CREATED DURING YOUR STUDENTS’ CLASS TIME. RECORDINGS WILL BEGIN THE WEEK OF MAY 11, BASED ON COSTUME DISTRIBUTION. ‘PERFORMANCES’ WILL BE PLAYED BACK DURING THE WEEKENDS OF MAY 29 AND JUNE 5.
IMPORTANT THINGS YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING FOR AND COMPLETING….
– Watch for emails advising the recording sessions so you can have your dancer dressed in their costume, with the appropriate hair style. We encourage, but do not require, stage make up/eyelashes optional.
-By May 18th, we recommend that your child attend all of their classes in costume, hair, and make up preferences. We hope to record each class on 2 separate class periods, and use the best recording for recital. Additionally, for larger classes (over 14) we will split the class and create 2 ‘performances’ to be presented sequentially – this should make the viewing much easier.
-If you need additional items, access the FlashPointeDance.com website Performance Info Page for an order form to send to Glitter (
GlitterAndGrimeDance@Gmail.com) to
request a Curbside Pick Up Purchase. (this year, fresh tights will not be required – please no tights or shoes with holes).
-Support your dancer by encouraging them to attend all remaining classes and having their costumes, shoes, and other performance needs available for their immediate access.
DEDICATIONS:
This year has been about sacrificing for the greater good. It is our desire that our students make these performances a bit more special by dedicating them to someone special….a friend or family member, a frontline worker, a special group. WE WILL BE ASKING EACH DANCER TO DEDICATE THEIR ZOOM 2020 PERFORMANCES, AND TO ANNOUNCE THEIR DEDICATION. Dedications will be recorded and played back during each performance piece. Please take some time to brainstorm with your child about what they might want to say for this recording. Dancers in multiple classes can choose to have a different dedication for each class, or keep the same dedication for all classes.
WATCH FOR YOUR LINKS AND EMAILS:
-We have a lot of information coming your way. You don’t want your child to be disappointed to miss a deadline.
-Check the Performance Info Page on the FPD website often for postings if you are afraid you are not up to date on things.
–Watch for your Costume Curbside Pick Up window. Each family will pick up all costumes at their earliest pick up date only. You do not have to come more than once. Please read the Curbside Pick Up information as well. We hope to have the remaining costumes out by 5/16 at the very latest.
-Watch for your Performance Date Zoom Meeting links. We will advise when the performance will be Zoomed, and give you a link to share with your family and friends so they can watch as well. Encourage anyone who is going to join us on Zoom, for the performance, to download the ap well before the performance time. Each class will be on the zoom room for 5-15 minutes. Once we get Curbside Pick Up notices and Recording notices completed, we will start creating the Zoom Rooms and sending out links. Expect them the week of 5/18-5/23 or sooner.
-You may want to learn how to record a Zoom Meeting prior to your Zoom Performance so you can record the ‘recital’.
-Zoom has an update that must be downloaded prior to May 30th – Make sure you have accessed this early this month.
CLASSES WILL CONTINUE through June 4th or 5th, depending on Zoom Recitals. Our goal is to complete all ‘PERFORMANCES’ on Saturdays and Sundays, with Friday as a back up if we need additional time.
