Expectations

Conduct

FPD students are expected to conduct themselves in a considerate, respectful, and responsible manner. They should be supportive and encouraging of all efforts made by their classmates. We want every dancer at FPD to feel like their efforts are appreciated.

Arrival

Dancers should arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to the start of their class. Class shoes should never be worn as street shoes and personal needs should be attended to before class, which includes using the bathroom, having a snack, and sipping on water. We want your dancer to receive the full class period for instruction.

Attire

Students should be dressed in the appropriate attire, legwear, footwear, and have their hair off their face for all classes. Ballet classes require a bun. Warm ups should come off after the warm up. Dance attire requirements facilitate ease of movement and allow the instructor to visually confirm that correct placement is being utilized by the dancer. See below for class specific Dress Code requirements.

General Courtesies

Cell phones should be turned on silent and put away in a dance bag during class.
Water bottles are allowed in the classroom.
Food and other beverages should be consumed outside the studios. Please, no peanuts or peanut products.
Dance bags go with students into the classrooms so we can maintain clear and safe transit in common areas.
Only instructors and staff should be correcting students…not other dancers.

Dress Codes

Upon registration each family will receive a class confirmation including the dress code and shoe requirements for class. For your reference, the dress code by class/level is summarized below:

Pre School Story Ballet

Pink leotard or dance dress, Capezio 1915 ballet pink footed tight, Capezio pink leather full sole ballet slipper. If possible, hair in bun. No ballet slippers with split sole or crisscross elastic for this age group.

Pre School Ballet/Tap

Pink leotard or dance dress, Capezio 1915 ballet pink footed tight, Capezio pink leather full sole ballet slipper, and Capezio N625 or 356C caramel tap shoe. If possible, hair in bun. No ballet slippers with split sole or crisscross elastic for this age group.

Pre School Jazz/Tap

Pink leotard or dance dress, Capezio 1915 suntan footed tight, Capezio brand CAR tie jazz shoe - Style EJ1, and Capezio N625 or 356C caramel tap shoe. If possible, hair in bun.

Pre School Hip Hop

Any of the following options for a top: Leotard, camisole top, graphic t-shirt, or bra top. Any of the following options for a bottom: Black dance shorts, black dance leggings, or black jogger, Pastry Grid black/black flat sole sneaker or Capezio black dansneaker: style options DS03, DS24,DS27,DS29,DS30. Hair pulled away from face and secured.

Tiny Tutus

Ballet 1 & 2

Black leotard and skirt, Capezio 1915 ballet pink footed tight, Capezio pink leather full sole ballet slipper. Hair in tight bun with hair net. Boys in black Capezio leather full sole slipper, black dance pant, and white short sleeve fitted tee.

Ballet 3 and up

Any color leotard, skirt recommended, tight options: Capezio Brand BPK 1916 Transition Tight, TPK 9 Mesh Tight w/ Seams, 1918 BPK Transition Tight w/ Back Seam, Capezio Brand LPK Canvas Split Sole Ballet Slipper - Style Options 2037W, 2030, 2028. Hair in tight bun with hair net. Boys in Capezio black canvas split sole slipper, black dance pant, dance belt, and short sleeve fitted tee.

Jazz 1 & 2

Any color leotard, Capezio 1915 suntan footed tight, Capezio EJ1 caramel tie jazz shoe. Hair off face in bun or ponytail. Boys in Capezio black EJ1 tie jazz shoe, black dance pant, and short sleeve fitted tee.

Jazz 3 and up

Any color leotard, Capezio 1916 suntan tights, Capezio EJ2 black slip-on jazz boot. Hair off face in bun or ponytail. Boys in black Capezio EJ2 slip on jazz shoe, black dance pant, dance belt, and short sleeve fitted tees.

Tap 1

Any color leotard, Capezio 1915 suntan footed tight, Capezio 3800 caramel Mary Jane buckle tap shoe. Hair off face in bun or ponytail. Boys in black Capezio tie tap shoe, black sock, black dance pant and black short sleeve tee.

Tap 2 & 3

Any color leotard, Capezio 1915 suntan footed tight, Capezio CG19 black tie tap shoe. Hair off face in bun or ponytail. Boys in Capezio CG19 black tie tap shoe, black sock, black dance pant, and short sleeve tee.

Tap 4 and up

Contemporary and Lyrical 1

Contemporary and Lyrical 2 and Up

Musical Theater 1 age 12+

Discounts, Fees and Class Payment Schedule

Attend the Recital for Free! Refer a New Family and get 2 Free Recital Tickets.

Receive 2 free recital tickets when you refer a new dancer to the studio for a full year of student classes. Both referral and referring families must be registered no later than October 15 and complete the entire year. Both accounts must be in good standing.

Tuition Discounts

Families save 5% off tuition when multiple children attend the entire year
Save 5% off tuition if you Pay In Full by September 15th
Competition Team families save 10% off tuition
Total combined discounts may not exceed 15%

Class Payment Schedule

Class installment plans are for your convenience and include payment for tuition and recital costumes.

Any number of classes: Payment in full by September 15 is eligible for a 5% discount
Single payment or the 3-installment plan: August 10 (or at time of enrollment), November 10, and February 10
Three+ classes may do a single, triple or five-installment plan: August 10, Oct. 10, Dec. 10, Feb. 10 & Apr. 10
Payment can be made through your Akada client portal by credit card, as auto bill by credit card, or by cash or check at the front desk for your convenience.

Late fees will be assessed monthly on overdue accounts.

Tuition

Our program runs Fall through Spring for a minimum of 30 weeks.

1 Class: $675 for Pre-school & Tiny Tutus, $775 annual tuition for 55 minute class, $1095 for a 90 minute class (this will affect your multiple class rate as well)

2 Classes: $1520 annual tuition (2 Pre-School classes $1150)

3 Classes: $2270 annual tuition

4 Classes: $3000 annual tuition

5 Classes: $3650 annual tuition

6 Classes: $4190 annual tuition

7 Classes: $4770 annual tuition

8 Classes: $5330 annual tuition

9 Classes: $5950 annual tuition: Wildfire – unlimited classes at this rate

Registration Fees

At the time of registration, you will be charged...

Registration fee ($35 for your first dancer, $25 for each additional dancer)
$65 tuition deposit fee which secures your dancer’s spot in the class (this deposit will be applied towards your tuition payments but is non-refundable)

Recital Package Charge

Preschool and Tiny Tutu Costume charges are $88 + tax
Regular class costume charges are $115 + tax. Additional charges that the costume companies charge for larger sizes will be as follows: Adult XL +$10, Adult XXL +$20, Adult XXL +$30.
$25 media fee (the media fee covers the cost of the recital video and some behind the scenes extras)
Items included in the recital package will be charged on November 1st

Early Withdrawal

If your class does not prove to be a good fit for your dancer, please reach out to us and let us find something they may enjoy more. If we can’t find a good match we will certainly accommodate your withdrawal, but we want you to be aware of our policy for early withdrawal.
Registration fees and tuition deposits are forfeited for all withdrawals.
To avoid being required to purchase your recital costume in full, we must receive your written notice of withdrawal via email no later than October 20th. You should receive confirmation of your email within 2 days of your submission. If you do not, it is your responsibility to contact us and confirm receipt of your withdrawal email.
